Torquay has a balmy micro climate and is the warmest place in the UK with a string of 9 clean, sandy beaches that make you feel like you’re in the Mediterranean. The main beach in Torquay is called Torre Abbey sands, a short walk from the harbour. Take a surf lesson, cling onto a banana boat while it bounces over the waves, chase each other around the bay in a pedalo, or hop on a sea fishing boat and catch your supper (not for Hens with hangovers!)
There are many seafront bars and restaurants along the very trendy promenade, where you can sit outside with the girls and enjoy a few cocktails. For lunch, a few steps from the beach is Below Decks – a friendly bistro with tables outside, right on the beautiful harbourfront. Tasty fresh, local food with generous portions, lots of alcohol to choose from and freshly ground Italian coffee.
If you fancy a spot of shopping, Fleet Walk is the harbour shopping complex with plenty of famous brands to keep any Hen in retail Heaven. Pick up some designer clothes at fab, low prices in TKMax. The Pavillion is a more exclusive arcade with quirky speciality shops and overlooks the beautiful marina.
For all you animal lovers, Living Coasts is Torquay’s zoo, where you can see coastal animals from all over the world. Penguin Beach is super cute!
